Viva Radio (Viva) is an eclectic, Brooklyn, New York-based Internet radio station. Music programming is drawn from a roster of contributors known for their passion and depth of music knowledge. Each contributor has their own profile with extensive playlist archives, so shows are available after their original time of airing. Viva offers a picture, bio and contact information for contributors. The station runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Viva is the official in-store music and audio network for American Apparel stores and plays live in over 160 of its retail locations worldwide. ==Mission== Viva is known for the depth of its programming, because each DJ is hand selected for the strength of their musical selections. Shows cover genres like dance music, indie rock, pop, rap and jazz. The station was founded in June 2006. It has 60,000 unique listeners a month. Viva was created in order to give DJs, musicians, art and fashion personalities a place to showcase their favorite music. Its slogan is "Bringing radio back on track!" Contributors put together new shows for the station weekly. Viva has 57 contributors, many of them from Los Angeles and New York City. The site is currently at capacity for contributors, but submissions are welcome for future consideration. Shows are typically one hour long but may also run two hours.
